Is Facebook Home the next thing? Possibly not… While it appears that Android’s new Facebook-foundation adventure has the downloads to reach phenomenon status, Google Play ratings are less encouraging according to Forbes:
11,923 user reviews put it at 2.2. As a point of comparison, Facebook’s normal Android App has a 3.6 rating. Fruit Ninja has a 4.3.
That’s nearly 50% of Fruit Ninja’s fare! Thumbs are downward for the interface and concerns abound regarding the battery life it takes to maintain the constant status updates that make our Facebooklife so wonderful and dynamic.
Personally, I like keeping Facebook at a thumb’s distance on my iPhone. Without an escape hatch, you may not be able to elude that 11th grade classmate who’s trying to chat with you at 3:00 a.m., and thus remain on his “people to kill list”.
If Billy Madison taught us anything…
I’m still a mile away from anything Android, though I’m a fan of the massive screens, so I guess Facebook Home isn’t really my concern, so whatever.
Seriously though, give it a chance, and let Facebook Home make itself at, well you know, in your mobile phone and see what happens.
